Everything from Stump-to-Dump
Northern Timber Management has a strong history and wealth of knowledge in the forestry sector — so we have tailored our services for just that. From stump to dump, our services cover it all, from logging in the forests to the transportation of waste material.
Logging & Forestry
Using cut-to-length logging (CTL), our equipment fells, delimbs, and cuts trees into logs. This method is sought after as a more efficient process, requiring less equipment, reducing the amount of fuel needed, and reducing impact on the surrounding environment (which is better for the forest soil).
Our logging & forestry services are available for sawmills and other forest-based company contracts.
Biomass
With CTL processing, remains of stumps, tops, and branches are left in the forest. With our equipment, this wood material is collected and ground into fine chips, which can be used by the local mills we work with in their boiler systems for heat and power, offsetting energy costs with a green source.
Chip debris and off-grade lumber are also included in our biomass processing.
Reclamation with Biomass Services
Northern Timber Management’s biomass services expand into reclamation projects. These projects return land to a usable, agricultural state; in using our biomass services, Northern Timber helps to restore local farmland.
Transportation
In addition to the three trucking divisions under Northern Timber Management, each forest and logging division includes a transportation service to handle all needs in the stump-to-dump process. Our trucks and trailers haul equipment in for forest operations, carrying our CTL logs and chips out to their respective contracts.
Nor-West Bulk Lines services more than logging and forestry transportation, offering Canada-wide transportation from La Crete for grain, fertilizer, fuel, and more.
